Most Americans Support Sex Ed

First, it’s important to remember that comprehensive sex ed (as opposed to abstinence-only sex ed) can and often does still include abstinence education. It also includes talking about how to prevent STDs, how to find and use contraception, and a lot of other information that young people should know about in case they don’t choose abstinence. And even though comprehensive sex ed might seem controversial, the majority of Americans support comprehensive sex ed. About 92% of parents of junior high and high school kids support it. 90% of adults in Texas support it. The majority of Democrats, Republicans, Catholics and Evangelical Christians support it. Sometimes things aren’t as controversial as they seem. (Info from SIECUS)
